Jaguar. It’s a not very well know British company that produced a car that Jeremy Clarkson used to beat God himself in a race. (Top Gear, anyone?)
Then they gave us the F-type that was their first sports car in decades and it had quite a lot of choices for engines, really.
For the 2018 year, however, they’re adding a new engine to the list: A 2.0L Quad-Turbo Inline-4 which will be called “Ingenium”.
The new engine will be rated at just under 300 horsepower; 296 to be exact and if that isn’t enough to boggle you over, it also has 295 lbs-ft of torque. Couple this with an 8 speed “quickshift” gearbox and expect 0-60 mile an hour sprint times of over 5.4 seconds and a top speed of 155 miles per hour.
Who can forget that even the V-6 engines they have allow the F-type to do it anywhere between 5.1 to 4.9 seconds? The Ingenium will be a great addition to people who don’t want number-crunching performance, rather, it’ll offer the pizzazz of driving a Jag without wasting too much fuel and damaging the environment.
The car was initially sold as a soft top convertible but now is available as that or a hard top coupe. Also, when you order the base Ingenium model, expect to pay as little or as high as GBP 50,000, depending on your social status.
Although, when you buy a Jag, you’re part of the 1% of the population so you’d have to pay only a small amount of money.
Nevertheless, depending on the engine and options you’ve selected, it can easily go up to GBP 150,000.
So why buy a Jag? Because you can run over someone politely.
