Succeeding the mighty Aventador. Is it finally here?

The Lamborghini Aventador, as we know it, has been around for 7 long years in service to the super and ultra rich and making us normal pheasants salivate to no end. However, like all great hypercars, they all need a replacement.

And the Aventador SVJ was launched but it’s just a stopgap, short-term solution to a long term problem. Think of the SVJ as the iMac Pro; something in between the Mac Pro and the iMac 5K. Or when the Americans put up sandbags and steel tread plates on their Sherman tanks in WWII. Or the British when they put the 76mm QF 17-pounder on the American Sherman tank.

It’ll be good only for the short term but you need an actual replacement. The new Lamborghini is said to come out in 2022 and it doesn’t even have a name yet. However, what we do know is that it’ll have the same old 6.5L V-12 but uprated to produce 770 horsepower. Also, as what my agents have told me, the Aventador successor will be a hybrid and three electric motors will complement the V-12 powerhouse and add 402 horses.

That’ll be 1,200 horsepower combined which will put it up there with the likes of Pagani, Koenigsegg, Hennessey, Bugatti, Saleen and SSC. Some people might consider this cheating, like the purists but they know nothing about making a hypercar. All they know is how to drive it.

There’s so little we can tell you from this vehicle because it’s still in the drawing board, regrettably, so it’ll be another 6 years before we hear something about this. Heck, we don’t even know the prices yet (it’s still in the drawing board, what do you expect?).

The little we do know, however, is enough to make us salivate and masticate.
